I always think that if you can wait a few years before introducing your daughter to characters who are older and in more sophisticated life stages, then wait. I don't feel there's any content in the Married Years or Baby Years that would have been inappropriate at all for my daughter when she was 12, but that doesn't mean I would have let her read the books at that age. :-) I liked keeping her as close to her age or just a bit older when it came to reading about role models or life stages. They grow up fast enough as it is!(less)
