The details of the crime and events surrounding it have been fictionalized. My guess is that the writers want to make as much from this adventure as they can, so they are willing to take the risk. The material in the book can't be used in court. The true life witnesses are not willing to co-operate. Why would the "mob" go after writers who didn't even write the summarizing book. (less)
