Aftertaste is an adult book, and while I hesitate to put a specific age to that, since every reader is different in maturity and what they can handle at which age, the book does contain some material that readers should prepare for, including grief, death, loss (including of a parent), suicide, suicidal ideation, sex, bullying, and depression. While it is a hopeful book, and contains many funny, uplifting, and whimsical moments, it does have a healthy dose of darkness. (less)
