Question: In "The Drop" one of the main characters is the rescued dog - is the dog hurt/killed after the bartender takes him in? If the dog is hurt/killed - can you spoil that for me so I am prepared for it? Tell me how and where in the book? Thank you!

For anyone that has read the book and seen the movie, how does the book end? Is it the same as the movie? I loved the movie and I'm wondering if it's worth it to read the book. I know he wrote the screenplay from a short story he had written called Animal Rescue, then the screen play and then felt he wanted to enlarge on the short story.

I loved the film - have bought the DVD and have watched it many time. I read the book after seeing the film and the book was not disappointing in any way.(less)
