Does anyone know why, when as a child Bill swallowed a flashlight bulb, he was made at the hospital to eat a sandwich of cotton fiber? To induce vomiting? To cushion the light bulb on its way through the alimentary canal? It seems like a very bizarre treatment to get at a hospital.
