I have to say some of the material was hard/uncomfortable to read, but I am definitely glad that I did. I know that this kind of events actually happened and we need to learn about it. If we didn't read something we were uncomfortable with we would never learn anything. I think that this book is for people 12/13+ probably no younger. (less)

SPOILER question - when reading HF I like to see if some of the instances truly happened. In this case it's the (AGAIN SPOILER) the incident with the heads being transported. Has anyone heard of this? I wonder if it was made up as the author kept adding more and more horrific events.

I THINK THIS WAS A VERY GOOD BOOK & I THINK PEOPLE YOUNG & OLD SHOULD READ IT. I FOUND IT TO BE VERY HISTORICAL DURING THE OCCUPATION OF POLAND & THANK MY LUCKY STARS MY GRANDPARENTS HAD THE COURAGE TO LEAVE POLAND AND COME TO A NEW COUNTRY WHERE THEY COULD NOT SPEAK THE LANGUAGE & THE CUSTOMS WERE VERY DIFFERENT FROM THEIR HOMELAND?
