It gives a lot of hope in comparison to other novels, especially if you're familiar with the teaching of the Gnostic Christians. The Divine Invasion and The Transmigration of Timothy Archer aren't true sequels to Valis, but they do stick to the same overall subject matter of it, the latter of those two is probably a bit underrated as most people simply can't understand PKD and what he's trying to convey in his most of his stories.
