I dont know how to describe it and its not my first book of Harlan Coben. I see all these bad reviews because they realised that this book was his first AFTER they bought it?. well sorry but you should do a background check before you buy it to know everything about it. this book involved a lot of suspense as a lot of people know. Those people who are new here and are thinking about buying this book - do so.

Did anyone's opinion of the Stan Baskins character flip-flop while reading? It seems Coben wanted to make him into a true scumbag, but as the book progressed kept hinting at a changing man.

Yuckamashe I think Coben was inexperienced and wishy washy about a few characters. Stan was a scumbag and totally irredeemable.

I notice this was first published in 1990, I had marked it "read", now I'm ready the same book published in 2016, needless to say i'm confused. Could someone let me know why the second publication?
