Did any of you have the same response as I upon finishing the latest Dirk Pitt (or is that Dirk Pitts?) adventure - fun but flat, more vanilla then hot fudge. The best part, maybe we now have another few votes for legal importation of Cuban Cigars.

Just left my post. Liked the thermal vent mining concept and the sinking of the Maine for the historical avenue but I didn't really get the Aztec and Cuba connection. Seems like Dirk Cussler has a need to include every reocurring character from Clive's books. Clive was in it. St. Julien and even Jack Dahlgren. I think a little less nostalgia is needed.(less)
