Jaime came out to the ditch with his whiskey bottle and, after trying to offer some to Ronsel, was persuaded to let Ronsel drive him most of the way to the McAllan home (to the bridge) so Jaime could make it home without crashing. After getting out at the bridge, letting Jaime drive the rest of the way himself to avoid being seen together, Ronsel walked home. Upon getting home, he spoke to Hal (briefly) before realizing the letter was gone. He rushed back to the ditch, hoping he had dropped it when he had to dodge drunken Jaime's truck. When he realized it wasn't in the ditch, he concluded that it must have fallen out in the truck when he'd driven Jaime to the bridge. Ronsel was planning to sneak over to the McAllan's at nightfall to quietly retrieve the letter out of the truck, undetected. Little did he know, Ye Olde Racist, Pappy was feinding for some ciggies, and ended up driving that truck back into town. He found the letter, got his ciggies, spooked up his disgusting Klan friends, and rushed back, coincidentally finding Ronsel on the road back to his home. /end scene(less)
