Do I need to have read Kissing the Beehive before this book? Picked this one up from the secondhand shop on a whim but didn't see anything about it being part of a series til I looked it up on here.

The name of the series is Crane's View, which was a town in the book where weird things first started happening. So most likely the books in the series are only loosely connected. I didn't read book 1 and it didn't feel like I was missing anything.(less)
