Do I need to read Florence & Giles in order to read this one? Will I understand it if I don't? However, it says in the description that it is the long-awaited sequel to Florence and Giles but can also be read as a standalone novel, so... for those who read it, what do you think? The Girl Who Couldn't Read can stand alone. It does OK. Now that I read one reviewer's notes, I see how reading F&G first would have it's advantages giving the second story more depth and clarity.
