In the second chapter there's a minor reference to the road when I describe the area. Later in the story, a girl tells me about the road and what she calls it and why. She says injured fighting dogs are dumped there and how mad it makes her. I pulled the name from the story because I thought it was a good metaphor for the boy who is abused and abandoned by his adoptive family. I hope this helps! Thank you for your question!(less)
