My book club is looking for a graphic novel to read next year. Do you think this would be a good choice for a bunch of high school girls who don't have much background with Marvel or comic books? Does it have some literary merit that we could discuss?

It's pretty basic, but you could easily discuss; diversity, culture, how the art and coloring effects the tone of the story, how they would react in that situation, and the relationships that Kamala has with her friends, fellow peers and family. You could also discuss the moral of the story arc, which is *SUPER MINOR SPOILER ALERT* be yourself. I had no problem discussing it with the group I'm in.(less)
