I just started reading My Brother's Destroyer and maybe I must have missed something in the first chapter. When Baer returned home from witnessing the dog fighting, he heard Fred growl, but then a truck came and dropped him off seriously injured. What did I miss? Maybe I need to go back and re-read the first chapter.
