In another book (23 things) he specifically identifies as a believer in capitalism as a driver of human progress - but he is quite critical of the "free-market at all costs" variety (and at odds in that book to point out that it is not the only capitalistic game in town, despite what various politicians have said and done in the last 30 years). So, if you mean "capitalism vs. communism vs. ... " - yes, he is, but with reservations.

If you mean "economic school of thought"- no. He identifies nine of these, but considers that each has its place, depending on the nature of the problem or phenomena to be examined. And he states also that rigidly clinging to one school at the expense of all others is a pretty bad thing.
