Are you folks aware that there are two almost identical versions of this book ? The only difference is in the ending.... won't give more away. Why this book was never made into a spellbinding movie is utterly beyond me. This books reminds me of Neville Shute : "On the Beach".

Bruce Stewart Brilliant book. Just read both versions. Think I prefer the Karen Waldheim version. Would make such a great movie.
