The swearing is along the lines of Shakespearian cursing, and intimate scenes are implied but never described. Your child will know best if the complex structure of the multiple incarnations across a wide field of characters and span of time is enjoyable to her or not. Thus, only the child’s reading level and mental maturation would be limiters for the series. Think: Tolkien. Katherine Kerr’s Deverry cycle is perhaps more complex, but the story is riveting. Begin at the beginning, though, not here in Book 9. (less)
