The actual story was dramatized in "The Scarlet and the Black," with Gregory Peck and Christopher Plummer, in 1983. The movie pulled a lot of its information by the original book on the subject, "The Scarlet Pimpernel of the Vatican," later also renamed "The Scarlet and the Black."

It was a very good movie, by the way, even if it was made for TV. (less)
