I stumbled across this author in the library. They didn't have a lot of her earlier books. Will it matter much if I haven't read the earlier ones? I hate when references are made to things that happened in previous books when I haven't read them.

Any decent public library will make an effort to borrow the earlier books from another library for you if they can find them. (less)
