I was pretty upset that he did that, but that was one of the first books…moreI hadn't really thought about why, but I remembered when his wife was killed. I was pretty upset that he did that, but that was one of the first books that I read in the series. Later when I caught up with all of the books, I decided that there were more plot possibilities without her. I really think there was not much more to tell about Annie, if she continued to live in Guatemala, as she probably would have. Rose had been pretty much written out too, although she's not dead and we usually get a sentence or two about her.(less)
