But you should keep in mind that Manchester did not finish the third book. After a stroke he handed the research off to Paul Reid. The third book is not nearly as well written as the first two. However, it does cover the time period that many people would find most fascinating. The books are all incredible. I recommend reading them all in order if you can(less)
