There are 3 books in this series. Do they each stand on their own or do I have to start with the 1st book and move my way along? My instincts tell me the 3rd book would be of most interest to me which means I would start there. Any insights are appreciated.

However, it does cover the time period that many people would find most fascinating. The books are all incredible. I recommend reading them all in order if you can(less)

I recently learned about Churchill that he suffered from a type of bipolar disorder and was therefore sometimes depressed. Does this book or the other two of the series mention this? I would love to read about how such a successful person battled that dangerous demon.

I am currently reading "Walking With Destiny", the single volume biography of Winston Churchill by Andrew Roberts. It is really good and I really don't feel like I am missing too much detail, but I know that I am. Is the three volume book series "The Last Lion" something I should read when I finish "Walking With Destiny"?
