Perhaps I missed it, but does the author ever apologize to the shop owners or homeowners she stole from? I understand she did not get apologies from the people who wronged her, but she also committed crimes. Does she express remorse for those actions?

Fictive kin are people who are close enough to be related, but technically not relatives through blood, marriage, or adoption. For example, my father's ex-wife could be a mother figure for me, but because she is divorced from my father, she is fictive kin, not a relative. At the time the events occurred, it's possible that her state didn't recognize fictive kin in making placement decisions. The third option is that possibly Brown's biological father signed a direct consent, which is paperwork relinquishing custody of a child provided that a specific other individual takes custody. A direct consent wouldn't allow anyone else to have custody of Brown, only the named party.(less)

i don't know who the audience is to but i didn't really like it at all. i thought it was a bit young for me so i don't think i will be finding me read anymore books like this because it is not in my pick of reads. maybe make the book a bit more interesting what do you think?
