It contains scenes about puberty, teen pregnancy, abortion and drugs (Mainly marihuana, but I believe it mentions LSD).
The book does not necessarily endorse these themes, but they appear in a very "natural" way due to the genre of this book: coming of age (in the 70's).
It's a very beautiful story that I'm sure any 15 year old would understand.
