I am a Protestant Minister/Theologian who (unintentionally) in modern reading has been limited to Protestant writers. This Christmas gift revealed that Catholic Garry Wills share the same Jesus Christ. His insights on the non-acceptance of translations that reflected rugged original Aramaic & Greek, were particularly insightful. How could translations ever be as accurate as the original language?

I do have a difference of opinion with the author about the divinity of Jesus. My belief is that Jesus was born a man, as the second Adam and did not become the Christ ( the essence or embodiment of God) until after his resurrection. This is not main stream Christian thought but fits perfectly with a God who created a human being that would love Him and His creation. Adam and Eve did not. Anyone agree?
