For those of you who've read both Wicked and this, which do you prefer? Do you think that Maguire improves in the way he tells his story? Do you think he develops plot and character more masterfully? I'm looking for opinions on this novel before I dive into it, so that I have a more critical way of analyzing the novel as opposed to just gushing over the author.

I read Wicked about 15 years ago and did not care for it at all. A friend lent me this book and convinced me to read it. I was reluctant at first, and it took me 3 months to even crack open the book. While not my favorite author or writing style, I do have to say that I enjoyed reading this book. This book is a derivative of Cinderella, but is told from a different perspective with a lot of imaginative plot development.(less)

Did the book ever give details about hoe Henrietta was "murdered" other than vaguely mentioning poisoning? also on how Clara found out about it? or did I doze off on that part?
