Can I skip this book? Honestly, I've heard sort of lackluster reviews from my friends, and I don't really want to read it. However, I still do like the series overall and I'll give the next one a try. But I don't want to miss something important that affects the understanding of the series as a whole. Was there anything like that in here, and if there is, what?

Tess got on my nerves and after 25% I had really had it with her internal monologue.
At 57% the main characters had not had any meaningful interaction (imo) and their relationship and attraction is not believable. Reading #8 right now, should have gone straight to it. (less)
