Why is it called Book zero, is it a prequel?

Madeline Yes it is a prequel to the thirteen treasures series.

I know this is a prequel to the 13 Treasures trilogy, but do I have to necessarily read it first? Despite being a prequel, I've reached a part where characters appear without proper intro, possibly because they've already been explicitly introduced in 13 treasures.

Thea Jobling Probably best to continue with it and then read the triology then re-read it if you need to

Hi all! I have finished reading the 13 treasures series, and have found them to be so very marvelous, to the point that I'm afraid of starting this book, fearing that it won't be as good as the 3 books before it. I have this book in my collection for months already, and am just asking for reconfirmation that I should get started on reading this book! (?)
