Seriously, someone tell me - what's the big deal about this book? Exactly, why is it so important? Is it because four teens can relate to one another even though they are from different cliques? But what happens next day, they never even told us!

The Breakfast Club isn't just about how some kids manage to become friends even if they come from very different social backgrounds. It's about self-discovery. Maybe John and Clair break up in a few weeks, maybe Allison and Brian do break up as well. Maybe they all will be friends for life... Any which way, they have found out who they really are and they're never going to forget it, and that's the gift, that's the really big stuff. So that is what the movie focuses on.(less)
