I couldn't bring myself to finish it because of how simple minded this story was. The use of mermaids drew me in but the execution pushed me away. I read ALOT of YA, but this did not feel YA whatsoever. Poor character development, in my opinion. They felt a bit shallow. I started to realize that I didn't care what happened to the plot or the people - I made it halfway through before giving up, which might only happen once or twice a year (out of 100). (less)

So, how come the series is 4 books but is about 6 mermaids? wouldent it be more logical to have one book for each mermaid?

Emilie No, because the four books are telling the story of all of them together and that makes more logical sense.
