Still Captain and Kamala are not so close as to be called friends. As the chapter starts, Captain Wasantha comments on how their days are falling into a pattern with Kamala waking up early in the morning and going down to water to bathe and how she starts cooking once she comes back so on. Out of habit during in his combat duty, Captain Wasantha explains the day's route and plant to Kamala. At this point an argument flare up between the two with Kamala commenting on that all the villus they are passing have Tamil names and it shows that these areas were earlier inhabited by Tamil people. Having heard this frivolous argument before, Captain retorts by saying that there is a Tamil name for moon as well, but it will take more than a name to get custody over moon. This argument puts them out of talking terms for the day and as they move forward, they accidentally run into a group of poachers. They barely manage to scramble out of the track and hide as the poachers pass by. (less)
