I am the only one who found this book brave, the characters full of human flaws which made them believable and compelling, the story very very difficult to get through but so well-observed, so forthright there was a kind of transcendence at the end?

Alicia J. I really liked the storyline. Wanted the ending to be different regarding the commander but i didn’t like how Alexa spoke to her husband

Was the scene in which Michael and Miri had sex for the first time supposed to read as rape, or was that just me? "Michael started pushing me back toward the staircase. He bit into my neck and fumbled with his jeans, trying to shove them down with other hand [...] then he was inside me and I gasped..." No consent. No discussing birth control (& he came inside her without a condom). Did anyone else view this as rape?
