And because of the way it’s said and the context, I think we are supposed to see him as an immigrant, not an alien. I wouldn’t have gotten this except Gene Luen Yang has an other book called Superman Smashes the Klan, in which the idea of Superman himself being an immigrant is toyed with. (less)
