I started reading Hunt For Red October once, but never finished it. I read this one at the urging of my mother, because of its similarities to the actual facts of today. All I really needed to know was that Jack Ryan has been the main character in most of the Clancy books and now he is the President of the United States. His son, Jack Ryan Jr. has taken the lead role.

From there, I had all I needed to enjoy this book.(less)
