When I taught Kindergarten, Scholastic books sold a remake of A Apple Pie. I don't remember the format exactly, but the story may include all things connected to the apple tree.

I loved this as a child. So much better, more like a story, than in the standard letter-is-for-noun format. This was included in a children's story book my grandmother had that was unfortunately lost in a move. It also had a variant of the Three Little Pigs. Anyone happen to know which collection?
