I hope that they'll lower the prices again sometime just before book three, The Trials, comes out. But that's all up to my publisher. They make the pricing decisions, along with the timing.(less)

Okay, so once upon a time, Laughlin and Jacobs did work together. Jacobs was Laughlin's mentor. But they disagreed about methods and philosophies (hence, among other things, the differences between how Ford and the others were raised versus Ariane.) Laughlin thought Jacobs was too outdated, too slow. Jacobs thought Laughlin was moving too quickly, as my dad would say "too big for his britches."

As for working together, there's only ONE contract at stake. Only one company can win. So, for them to work together, one of them would have to work for the other. And their egos are way too big for that. ;) (less)
