Didn't anyone else who read this wonder why Cole didn't have his DNA compared to that of the mysterious dead man? This concern of whether the dead man was Cole's dad figured large in the plot. If the time period had been prior to DNA testing, the whole book would have worked a lot better for me. Has post-mortem DNA technology just evolved since the setting of this novel?
