My question is. Is it a walking race or a running race? Sometimes they seem to walk and sometimes they start running.

Anyone think these 'wobble' races were the inspiration for the 'dance marathons' in America, 50 years later, during the Depression Era? (I'm thinking about Horace McCoy's very good 1930's publication "They Shoot Horses Don't They" and the subsequent, excellent, film version from the 1970s with Jane Fonda.)
