However, I think a mature teenager, especially if he or she enjoys travel books and the outdoors, might enjoy it. The pace can be slow and the book is also about the people the author meets along the way. The book was written in the 80s, so that may also affect how well a young person's opinion. The author wants to prove to himself he can make the journey, but I think his interest in the people he comes in contact with makes the book most enjoyable. (less)
