I've heard that there's a fantasy/paranormal element to this book. How large is it? Is it just sort of hinted at, or is it something significant?

Will Grannan It takes the ideas of magic in traditional/aboriginal culture very seriously. Well documented.

Anyone else bothered by the way all the female characters' sexuality was so casually bizarre? I was listening to the book and was interested in the plot but at 5 hours I just said to myself, enough. Obviously written by a man. Just too weird.
