I found the writing somewhat inconsistent - silly metaphors, careless character development - but I did enjoy the author's description of the spiritual life of the main character and her ability to get underneath the fabric of daily life to what really matters. I wonder if practicing Catholics felt the book was reasonable - or blasphemous?
