And it presents the view that women cannot be restrained/limited to the affairs of the house alone, but that their presence is in life at large. Hence the title, The Home and the World. Dealing with those two spheres of activity. I hope I have done this justice. It's been quite a while since I read this, but it has left a strong impression that remains with me still.(less)
