Why does this LeCarre book appear to be overlooked?

Stephen I don't know. It's the one of his books I most like to read and reread (at least 3 re-reads since first one). My other favorite of his is Drummer Girl…moreI don't know. It's the one of his books I most like to read and reread (at least 3 re-reads since first one). My other favorite of his is Drummer Girl, which is just a little more realistic and for that got from me a fifth star that I could not give to this, my real favorite for a thumping good read. Let's tell more people about it!

Anyone else find the description of the Bahamas bizarre? I read that the hero takes the boy high into the hills to a freshwater stream and teaches him to tickle trout!! That doesn't sound like the Exumas or anywhere in the Bahamas to me after 9 months of sailing around it. Freshwater is scarce hence everyone digs wells or uses desalinated water. Highest point in the Exumas is just 100ft above sea level. Nonsense..
