Do I need to read the whole series to understand the last book? Because sadly I bought The Shade of the Moon book #4 in the series without knowing it was a series. It sounded cool and it was only $1.50 at the dollar store, I couldn't resist! Help?

I'm bummed that the description gives things away that happen in Book #3. I just finished Book #2 and thought it was only a trilogy, but when adding the third to my "to-read" list I saw the fourth and unwittingly read the description. Not a ?, just whining. Womp womp.
