Can anyone tell me what the last line of this book is? I got this one many years ago at a library sale and it took me awhile to find the others to complete the series before reading them. It looks as if there might be some pages missing from the back of my copy. The last line in my copy is, "Smiling, I picked up the other two bundles and started after Shiara."

Silly question; I see this book is the last in the series, but was published several years before Dealing With Dragons. Is it a prequel that's meant to be read last?

This book was written first, but the author decided that the world was worth revisiting and wrote the rest of the series, which give the back story of many of the characters. As it happens I read this one first but I do not think I enjoyed the series any less for reading the first written but last set book first.
That said, I do prefer the other books in the series, especially the first two in story time, Dealing with Dragons and Searching for Dragons. When reading the series I generally read just those two.(less)
