What is wrong with Dina? Is she just traumatized by her mother's death or is there some psychic condition as well?

My impression is that Dina is a subversive character who doesn't behave according to social customs and expectations of her community.

She openly acts in ways that are considered inappropriate, whether she can "help" it or not. I think its more about how others respond to her, not that there is actually a psychological condition.

The reason why I think this is because a lot of what she does has to do with her sexuality, (and possibly not having a stable upbringing as a child) and less with tendencies related to an illness like borderline personality or psychopathy, for example. She is just "different" from others in her community.

That said, I have a lot more to read! Dina is really interesting!(less)
