Did anyone else notice that after Harry Arno was snatched from the golf course, he told someone he was about to have a chance for a birdie? However, he would have been on the green in 3 on a par 4. Best he could have done was par. Rather than a mistake by Elmore, I suspect this was to confirm what one of the kidnappers said about him - "I bet he cheats".

He told him he was on a par 4 lining up his approach shot (which would be the second shot on a par 4 unless you play golf like I do in which case your approach shot might be your third or fourth stroke on any given hold) and if he got that shot close to the pin he'd be putting for birdie. I just read that a little while ago and turned back to the page to be sure I had it right and I did...and so did Dutch.(less)
