Just finished The Winter of Frankie Machine, and loved it. I'm inclined to read more Don Winslow, but checking out the synopses I wanted to ask his books are sufficiently different from each other? I appreciate the locations differ, but the impression is that each riffs on the 'lone hero', flawed but fundamentally principled, fighting amoral criminal organisations. Is this fair, or am I completely off-beam?
