The young female character is frightfully and yes extremely stupid. I did not like or enjoy this book I won't be finishing the series. Why bother calling it Miss Silver series if she Miss Silver who is the smartest person the book is only a minor character?

The series does have a lot of sappy lovers separated for sappy reasons, but many of the minor characters are a lot of fun.(less)

So if you read a later story where x and y are happily married, you know that neither x nor y get murdered/are the murderer in the earlier story in which they are introduced!(less)
