I read this in middle school and just remembered the name but not much about it, except I think it was like Love Story. Would love to find a copy of it Anyone have a copy?

Even though that seemed a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a book I purchased for about 50 cents in high school (through the Scholastic Paper), I'm glad I did it. It was everything I remembered it to be--one of the two books I read in middle school that shaped me as a writer. It took me YEARS to remember the title and it popped out of my head quite unexpectedly one afternoon as I sat down to eat lunch.

I don't think it is much like LOVE STORY. This is so full of teenage angst and the social structures of high school, etc. You read it and realize little has changed in the world for kids on the brink of adulthood.
